Cingjing Farm: Sheep Shows and Mountain Views in Nantou

Cingjing Farm is one of Taiwan’s most popular tourist farms. It has the most Google reviews of any farm of its kind, about 32,000, and the clean mountain air, scenery and European-style atmosphere explain why.

The farm sits at 1,700–2,000 metres above sea level. From May to September the average temperature is 18–21 °C, a welcome escape from the heat of the lowlands. The view changes with the season and the time of day: sunrise over a sea of clouds in the morning, drifting mist in the afternoon, and sunset colours in the evening. Wide views, lush grassland like a green carpet and distant mountains make it hard to leave.

Tickets

Opening hours are 08:00–17:00 daily. From 1 January 2025 the prices are NT$270 for adults, NT$210 for the discount ticket and NT$130 for the half-price ticket, plus a NT$20 insurance and administration fee (source: cingjing.gov.tw). Prices may change, so check the official website before you go.

Enter from the ticket booth at the north end of the Green Green Grassland service centre. You will see a wide alpine meadow with sheep roaming across it. Follow the path to the sheep show arena, home of the farm’s most famous attraction.
